Our Governors
The Governing Body. Why not think about joining us?
The Governors are all volunteers who are the management superstructure of the school. They act as critical friends to the school staff and work in conjunction with them to ensure that the School Improvement Plan is both relevant and being implemented, to the benefit of all our pupils.
The governors meet regularly and are formed into three main groups,
- Pupil Development : This committee deals with issues relating to the curriculum. They discuss how children are making progress and receive progress reports from the Senior management team which may indicate what further improvements need to be made in school.
- Finance : This committee regulates the budget and ensures that initiatives required for school improvement are affordable. They decide if staffing levels are sensible and ensure that the school does not overspend.
- Resources : This committee deals with matters relating to premises, health and safety and any contracts which the school enters into. It ensures that everything works that should and replaces anything that doesn’t.
There are also other groups which meet occasionally when appointments have to be made, or any problems arise.
Being a governor is an important role at the school and we are always looking for parents to become involved. Contact the school office if you wish to have your name put forward to become a governor at our school.
